EC Grant ESPRIT-III - together with several partners The COMTools project was intended to enable application developers to exploit the maximum benefits of distributed object technologies.
The project combined the advantages of the Microsoft Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) infrastructure with the standardized services and scalability provided by the Object Management Group's CORBA infrastructure.
