Call For Papers: Web 2.0 Technologies and Beyond: from Folksonomies to Clouds

  • There is 15 page length limit (12 point single space inclusive of figures and tables).
  • We invite submissions of papers detailing original research with contributions on any topic related to Web 2.0/Web 3.0, folksonomies, service platforms & operation within scalable (cloud) platforms for Web 2.0/3.0 applications, web users behavior.

DBIS organizes the 3rd International Conference on Objects and Databases 2010

I am glad to inform you that DBIS will organize the 3rd International Conference on Objects and Databases (ICOODB), on September 28-30, 2010, at the Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.

E-Innovation Incubator at the Goethe University started

The Goethe E-Innovation Incubator is a new nonprofit venture group created by Prof. Roberto V. Zicari head of the Database and Information Systems group (DBIS), at the Department of Informatics and Mathematics.

The Goethe E-Innovation Incubator is dedicated to promoting the growth and success of Information Technology entrepreneurial ventures focused on the Web, by connecting ideas, technology and people.

The E-incubator will also have a charter that seeks to build an organization that supports nonprofit projects with a focus on Information Technology (IT). The projects it will support are meant to benefit the social sector.

The first project supported by the Goethe E-Innovation Incubator

Im WS 08 bitte ich die Lehrveranstaltung Principles of E-Commerce II: Business Models for the Web " [UnivIS] an zu der ich alle Studenten ob mit  oder ohne Vorkenntnis herzlich einlade!

ideaDie Veranstaltung beschäftigt sich mit der spannenden Frage wie ich von eine Geschäftsidee zu einem Businessplan komme um dann letztenendes vielleicht ein Start-Up für das Web zu gründen.

Dabei analysieren wir den Internet-Markt und dessen Geschäftsmodelle um Antworten auf Fragen zu finden wie z.B.:

   - Wie und Warum sind Unternehmen wie beispielsweise Google und
     Amazon so erfolgreich?
   - Was muss ich tun, wenn ich eine gute Idee für E-Business habe?

Neben diesen zentralen Fragen werden wir verschiedene andere Themen behandeln rund um die Technologie des Internets, E-Commerce Metriken, Channel conflicts und mehr …

 
Best Paper Award

At the 31st Information Systems Research In Scandinavia conference (IRIS) taking place in Åre, Sweden,  August 9. - 12. the Best Paper Award went to associate professor Jesper Holck , Department of Informatics, Copenhagen Business School (CBS) for the paper titled: "Winning Through Incremental Innovation: The Case of MySQL AB ", co-authored with professor Volker Mahnke, Department of Informatics, CBS, and professor Roberto V.
